Menstrual Migraine and Genetics Study

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Women! Do you suffer from migraines with your periods? Volunteers are wanted for menstrual migraine and genetics study.

We want to look closely at genes to gain more information on why some women get menstrual migraine and compare with others do not.  Identification of genes involved could ultimately lead to the development of more effective treatment of this disabling type of migraine.

If you have migraine linked to your periods (called “menstrual migraine”), please consider taking part. If you have female friends or colleagues (not relatives) who are lucky enough to never have had migraine, we would also like them to participate.

The study involves one visit to the City of London Migraine Clinic to complete a questionnaire and provide a saliva sample for genetic testing. Additionally, you may be asked to provide a blood sample which is optional. We can refund reasonable travel expenses. The visit will take about an hour in total.
