How We’re Funded
Because we do not receive NHS funding, we are continually trying to raise funds for the Clinic. Making a contribution is important and finding funds for migraine research and treatment can be difficult. Our annual running costs amount to over £265,000, even though two of the Clinic’s doctors give their services free. We are extremely grateful to our patients and other supporters for their generous donations which exceeded £130,000 in the 15 months to 31st March 2008.
Aside from patient donations we receive an annual grant from Migraine Action, who also support some of our research projects. We conduct clinical trials sponsored by pharmaceutical companies and also undertake independent research, returning all income to the Clinic, which is a registered medical charity. We receive donations from commercial organisations, trusts and other donors. In addition we raise money by appeals and have a street collection on Alexandra Rose Day. However, there is still a considerable annual shortfall.
